Sanjoe Prathiksha Bhavan Social Service Society (SPBSS) is a secular Society es- tablished by CMC sisters, St.Mary’s province Thamarassery. It is a non political and non profit making organization, and our very aim is to cater the welfare and rehabilitation of Differently Abled, Physically Handicapped and to protect their interests irrespective of caste, creed and religion or sex, for all age groups. Our St.Mary’s province started this Sanjoe Prathiksha Bhavan School for Men- tally Challenged Children on 5th June 2000.

When a survey was conducted in April at Thiruvambady Panchayath, it was found that more than 3 % of the children are mentally challenged and were living with disabilities. To bring up these unfortunate children, we started this institution with the help and advice of local people and the authorities of Sanjoe Prathiksha Bhavan. In the beginning there were 6 students, two trained staff and one Ayha. But with the request of parents Sanjoe Prahiksha Bhavan was raised into a residential institution at Thondimmal in Thiruvambady panchayath. At present there are 126 children studying in 14 classes - Care Group, Pre-Primary, Primary, Secondary, Pre-vocational and Voca- tional classes.

We wish to extend the unconditional love of God to everyone especially to the aban- doned and mentally challenged. We enable them to live in dignity and an active member of the national mainstream. Committing ourselves to the Word of God we seek to enrich the lives of the vulnerable people with Hope and purpose and build a society that is sensitive towards the marginalized.
